Portland, Oregon – January 25, 2016 – CrowdCompass by Cvent, a leading developer of mobile event and conference apps, and Uber Technologies, a leading transportation networking company, have partnered to give CrowdCompass users the ability to request an Uber driver directly from the mobile event app. As of today, the Uber icon is available to be included on the home screen of all CrowdCompass apps. With a tap of the icon, event attendees are taken directly to the Uber app, making transportation before, during and after events easy and convenient.
“Mobile apps are increasingly becoming a critical component to delivering the digital event experiences that today’s meeting and event attendees expect,” said Andy Rosic, director of product management at CrowdCompass by Cvent. “Event attendees rely on their mobile devices to simplify all aspects of their event experience, including figuring out transportation. Our goal is to have the CrowdCompass mobile app facilitate those interactions as often as possible.”
Once clicked, the Uber icon will launch the Uber app that is attached to the user’s personal profile. If the user doesn’t have the Uber app, the icon will open the appropriate app store to install Uber. If the device doesn’t support a native Uber app, the icon will open the mobile Uber website, where users can sign-up or login to use the service.
The integration can be used at any event within cities where Uber is offered. Like the majority of features CrowdCompass offers, event planners are given control and can remove the Uber icon if that is their preference.
